I have had a relatively blessed life, and have always believed in "giving back" to the community, whether by funding various humanitarian organizations, or by volunteering my time. My current (03.04.24) endeavor is volunteering my computer and other skills to Virginians Against Domestic Violence. Although I fortunately have had little direct experience with DV, it is one of the negative aspects of society which is largely self-propogating. One simple act that any of us can do is to gently point people in the direction of the appropriate resources when it appears to us that they may be in need of help. |
