The machine instruction STIDP (STore Processor ID) returns a doubleword, 16 hex digits, in the form of aabc cccc dddd eeee, where
a Identifies the machine model. A few of the possibilities are shown in Table 1, below.
b In basic mode, the CPU address for a central processor. In LPAR mode, it is the logical CPU address for a logical processor.
c In basic mode, this is a 5 digit serial number. In LPAR mode, it is 1 digit indicating the logical partition number, and a 4 digit serial number.
d The CPU model number, examples: 9021, 9121.
e Is all zeros.
